Basically what I saw, a loosely aggregated mob, not capable of being organized and disciplined. That they were not hierarchical doesn't excuse the inciters or the participants.

Given that elements of the FBI facilitated the attempted coup, they can hardly be considered an authoritative source. Please note that the FBI pulled every punch Trump deserved during his tenure, not least of which including the Mueller Report. Note that the FBI is no longer constrained by Trump being president. The FBI is entirely free to indict Trump on the 10 obstruction of justice charges detailed in the first half of Mueller's Report. The FBI also illegally allowed Trump to abuse its offices for political purposes when it contrived investigations into Hunter Biden and into those on Mueller's team that investigated Trump's Russian conspiracy. Again, the corruption observed within the FBI must figure into claims that the U.S. Capitol attack was not coordinated. There is plenty of evidence to the contrary, so such claims further harm the FBI's reputation.

"FBI facilitated the attempted coup"

It is hard not to notice that YOU have provided NO credible/verifiable/factual source(s) for your accusations/claim(s).

. . . note that I'm not dismissing the notion(s) that Trump had "allies".

@FearlessFly Wray has lied (with weasel wording) that the FBI didn't significantly monitor social media in the run-up to Jan 6 (if you believe that); and, that the FBI (ineffectively) notified Congress of the impending attack. In his testimony, which was wholly evasive, he would not describe who, if anyone, actually received the heads-up. Wray himself is a fanatical Republican based on his membership in ultra-conservative organizations, such as the Federalist Society, and speaking at the Heritage Foundation.

@racocn8 MORE accusations (wrt FBI) without facts.

The 2 links are about DOJ, not the FBI.
wth . . .

Again, I don't need convincing that Trump manipulated whoever he could -- he is no longer in charge of any government agency.

@racocn8 ummmm, "insufficiently monitored" is a Very far cry from collusion, facilitation, or any such idea......unless you are a hair-trigger conspiracy nut.

@racocn8 Those links do NOT support your accusations about lies or his Congressional testimony.

Lawfare article criticized Congress . . .

"How much worse is it that senators do not appear inclined to force officials to confront these questions? "

@AnneWimsey @FearlessFly We'll have to agree to disagree. Certainly many members of Congress have been compromised based on the unwillingness to pursue the truth. Wray's evasiveness made it abundantly clear that either the FBI completely failed, or, as we have seen throughout Trump's tenure, strategically placed insiders in numerous agencies furthered Trump's agenda. If you imagine these weren't conspiracies, good for you. You can say the FBI was the exception if you like.

@racocn8 I 💡 made no claims (one way or the other) about the FBI/Congress
YOUR statements/accusations/opinions have not been supported by source(s).

Scant evidence or no proof?

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages."

Won't the Rs have a field day with this ?
