Inspired by the skeletons of ice age mammals, sure. Those would have been common, and even articulated sometimes. I read once where the ancient Greeks had reburied a mammoth skeleton in a grave, likely thinking it was a giant's skeleton. Fossil dinosaurs, I think that's a stretch. Their fossils are usually embedded in rock, and almost alway incomplete and disarticulated.
