The pledge was just a marketing hack.
He was giving away flags to schools who bought his magazine subscription.

If this keeps on we may find that it was written by Ralph Bellamy. As for me, I pledge allegiance to the flag and to Richard Stands.

Under god was added 1954 by the Republican’s before they joined the Fascists and their March to Authoritarianism fascists government!!!

I think McCarthyism in the 1950's, was a former attempt at a fascist government shift. The words "under god" were added to appease the McCarthyists.

Whatever its origin, it should not include the words "under God."
