Anna Nusslock needed a life-saving abortion but didn't get the help she needed. Other women will now be spared that trauma.

Earlier this month, California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta sued a Catholic hospital, saying they denied a woman emergency medical care because, in their view, it violated their religious beliefs. Bonta said that didn’t matter because a state law requires all hospitals to help patients in those situations.
The two sides have now reached a temporary agreement, with the Catholic hospital promising to provide emergency care—even if it involves terminating a pregnancy.

But how is the earth going to get plenished again? The bibble talks of "replenishing" the earth and we all know today that it's a child the moment the sperm and the egg shake hands. This is why ignorant religious people go out and kill abortion doctors. They know this is real and Jesus talked so much about it. He loved the little children.
Translation: you need to hold a gun to the heads of such Catholics to prevent them from doing evil.
Government forcing religion to follow it's atheist beliefs is not separation of church and state
So you'd prefer to live in a nation where it's ok for a hospital to refuse care to a dying patient because she may have induced an abortion? How very compassionate. And, by the way, nobody ever said that ''government'' has any theistic or atheistic beliefs. Government must protect all citizens.
@pamagain clearly, government is a replacement church for atheists, and voting is a ritualistic atheist behavior, where instead of pastors, they have politicians
My area is being inundated with the Catholic hospital group 'Peace Health.' Even the county seat at Friday Harbor has a new large hospital that is a branch of Peace Health. As these hospitals refuse services more local politicians are successfully forcing them to change the way they work.
Several years ago a friend's husband (who was in the late stages of Parkinson's) fell and ruptured his bowel. He didn't know it until it got infected and was helicoptered off to a large city to the north (Bellingham). When his wife arrived she found he had had surgery and was put in a medicated coma. His wife told the hospital he had a no resuscitation order and said she would remove him if they did not comply. She also found the hospital was planning on installing a colostomy bag after he healed from the bowel. This for a person who could barely walk. They complied and he slowly died (which he wanted).
Sure! Catholics get to impose their dogma on everyone, right? Because they've got a hotline to the "all mighty?"
If your religion is going to hinder your ability to do your job, you should not be in that job. It’s obvious that these medical professionals have been using this as an excuse to control other people’s choices for far too long.
My question is why are so many Catholic hospitals able to survive financially when the non-religious ones are struggling?
@pedigojr As far as I know they are not for profit charitable foundations and can ask for donations if they are short.
@Killtheskyfairy I always assumed the Catholic Church subsidized the Catholic hospitals.
