My little girl has a colored toe too. And the toe beans are pink!

Mattie looks like she dipped her toes in the paint. So cute.

But then acted very innocent, as though she would never consider doing such a thing!

Mine love it too. Last time I grew some though I got tiny little bugs. I thought they were fruit flies but the recommended remedy didn't work. Have you had the same problem? Or anybody else?

I’ve never had that problem from planting grass for her. I know the bugs you mean. I’ve had that with other plants, mostly herbs I’ve potted and brought inside from the garden.

I have. It was when I bought wheat grass at the pet store already planted.

From then on I planted my own with good potting soil and no problems. I bet the kitties would have a blast.

@RavenCT hmm I planted it myself. Maybe it was the soil.

@AmiSue lol. Do they fly? Cuz these little buggers fly. Can't do too much because it's a cat treat. I'll try scrubbing out the pots, sterilize and get brand new soil that hasn't been outside in the garage.

Did you give her any papers?

She lacks thumbs to use while rolling her own...

You're confusing wheat grass with catnip Bill.

Can you tell us more? I think Bug might like that. (He won’t touch cat nip, but the little bastard sure loved eating my plants).

My mother sent me several bags of “Petlinks organic cat grass seed.” I have the same problem. Mattie likes to nibble the plants every chance she gets. I believe this is mostly oat grass but I’ve grown wheatgrass for her before and she likes that too.

@SkagwayKim So, do you just plant it in little pots? I see a weekend project coming. 🙂

@orange_girl yes, I use 6” terra cotta pots because I have a ton of them. From what you’ve posted of Bug, you may want to use plastic so he doesn’t decide clay pots are fun to break! ?

@SkagwayKim Actually, he'd probably chew the plastic ones (he has pica). I will just have to keep the pots on the floor. LOL

@orange_girl what is pica?

@dalefvictor It’s a medical condition where humans and animals eat non-food items like paper.

From pathology definition: an abnormal appetite or craving for substances that are not fit to eat, as chalk or clay, common in malnutrition, pregnancy, etc.

@orange_girl thanks for the info. We used to have a cat that liked to eat plastic bags. We always tempt her away from them but when we would get home with groceries she would attack.

@dalefvictor Bug does that, too! LOL

@orange_girl Bug, that is a great name. Bet she gets everywhere. Cute and fun.

@dalefvictor He's a boy and he does! LOL

@orange_girl Not doing well in reading tonight, will have to see if things get better tomorrow.
