Do they follow you from room to room and then proceed to ignore you? Have you apologized? Ignore them back. They can't stand it. You have to do it like them though, First you get them to notice you, then you show them you are ignoring them

Have you tried playing with them, using toys tied to a string, etc. I just spent 7 days visiting my son in Georgia. He has 4 cats, only one would let me get close enough to touch it, until about the 3rd day. I tied a small wod of paper to the end of a black thread. First only the one cat would play, then two more joined in, by the end of the week all 4 were following me around waiting to play. Your relatives might have to try not paying much attention to them so you are the only one giving them any.

I just happen to live alone with my 2 cats, Nala & Pixie, so it's me or no one with them.

Cat's hold a grudge...Give it time!

Treat box - stat! Or catnip... that works too.

They're just not sure of your permanence right now so they don't want to invest in you until they are more certain of your longevity.

Maybe it's time to talk to them about vacations?
