He's got his eyes on you!!
He’s wary!
A VERY alert black panther.
Always! It’s because he was likely just up to no good.
Emily is black, but she's house princess.
Nimitz was my house panther. It's not just color, it's attitude. Nimitz was a big, muscular, laid-back kitty.
I love the name too!
@WileEQuixote , I stole Nimitz' name from an intelligent alien cat in David Weber's Honor Harrington series. Nimitz knew 10 commands in English and Spanish and ASL before he died. Only 18 months,13 pounds before he got sick and still growing.
@TaraMarshall my panther is of the pocket variety, now 18mo and 8lbs
@WileEQuixote, yeah, Nimitz was going to be a BIG house Panther. I was guessing he'd be close to 20 pounds fully grown. He was nowhere near grown into his paws and ears.
I could take him out to the balcony of the local pub and we'd sit and watch traffic go by, including trains and motorcycles. And he was one of only two cats I've had who could alert me before I had seizures.
Mines a tuxedo, not quite the same effect!
Tuxies are still considered black cats. At least by shelters.
Also where's the pictures??
@RavenCT You saw my t-shirt pic, that's why I haven't photo'd mine! They'd never forgive me!
@phxbillcee Yeah I get it - my camera phone is terrible.
A friend gave me his old Kodak - that has improved things.
Yup! One full black - one tuxie - and of course my orange and white (who isn't a panther per se.....).
At the moment I've got him, two tuxies, a tabby, a meezer and a Russian blue (4 are fosters)
Cute group too!
@WileEQuixote Thank you! And what is a meezer? lol
Also good for you that you can foster! I'd end up with a bigger houseful of cats for sure.
@RavenCT yeah, I was supposed to be fostering 1 but it was Kill Day so I took 4 out of the 116 on the list.
Not much, really, but all I could do.
Meezer = Siamese
@WileEQuixote Aw! My cousin has had a Siamese or two her entire adult life. She loves them. Also talkative? lol
And has found all of them at shelters.
All my cats have been shelter cats - best kitties ever!
@RavenCT yep, my last one was rescued at 13 with renal failure but still lived to 19.
My current is another rescue with a slight heart condition but it's not showing signs of slowing him down.
Very, very talkative!

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
