To be honest, I have to admit I wouldn't know the first thing about how to raise another human being. I wonder if breeders feel the same way or if they're convinced that they would be awesome parents.

I'm fairly sure that we'd be fairly good parents - we'd completely change our lives in the attempt, at least, and we're settled enough that we'd be able to provide a comfortable life for them. We just don't want to.

Could be the Dunning-Kruger Effect in some cases.

I don't have any idea what to do with small children. Babies, totally clueless. Diaper? What's that? Having seen my friends who have children, there seems to be a whole range of readiness and confidence. My good friend feeds her children like she's giving treats to dogs. They run around the room with her chasing them with a piece of food (eg. a piece of broccoli) in her hand trying to offer it to them. I keep thinking my dogs are much more disciplined at dinner time.

I have behavioral tendencies inherited from both of my parents. I never would subject a child to anything like that.

I never wanted kids, have no desire to leave a legacy to the world, and babies are not compelling to me in the same way puppies and kittens are.

I also never wanted the fiscal responsibility of a kid.

I think the majority of people get pregnant by accident and self destructively decide to keep it.

I feel the same way. I always thought the idea of having kids was repulsive & I would be completely horrible at it too. I just don't see the attraction but so many people do! To each their own I guess.

I was convinced I'd be awesome.

Today, 40 years later, I joke that I'm not the man I used to be ... in fact, I never was the man I used to be.

I think the young often are particularly good at overestimating benefits and underestimating difficulties.

Then I am already old at heart since I underestimate benefits and overestimate difficulties XD heh

I don't think I would have been a good parent, because I never had an interest. I have known a few people who were or are, just really good at it. They really enjoy it, and it shows in their children.
