This is some good listening with some uncomfortable truths
Listen to: 480. How Much Does Discrimination Hurt the Economy? - [one.npr.org]
I listened.... I think the research about whether product quality (for lack of a better description) when diversity is forced is majorly flawed. It's really a study in whether you get better results working with people you know rather than those you may not. Clearly cooperation is easier and better when you know each other, know strengths and weaknesses of the other group members. I'm sure that if the randomly selected diverse groups had to work together on more projects, the results would increase to at least match the self selected groups.
That is a reasonable assumption but an assumption nonetheless.
@domos of course. No way to know unless they do more studies
Thanks for posting. I have almost 2 hours by myself first thing at work this morning- now I have something to listen to!
