Even back then some comments left me wondering where he was going with some of his opinions and the way he talked about issues that were only issues because right wing news said they were issues as if they were established facts poisoned him for me a few years ago.

I think he tries to straddle the fence since he’s in the entertainment industry. Many do that and it only reinforces that they don’t have the courage to say what they truly believe.
Bill Maher is a conservative, he might even be among that subset of conservatives that is not fascist but all you liberals and progressives out there don't forget he's really a conservative. I washed my hands of him weeks ago.

He has said on his show that he’s a registered Independent.
I can take notes from left or right side. Yet today more division with more separations by labels than ever in my lifetime of conflicts.
