Every year the cedar wax wings invade my yard, the day before the chinese photina was covered in pounds of red berries (pic 1), they also stripped my holly tree, now they are starting on my mexican fan palm. It looks like the big freeze has killed the mexican fan palm, so this will be the last year they get to feast on that. The photina and holly were here when I bought the property and are very hardy.

There were only about 20 cedar wax wings on the palm, but I expect by the end of the day they will have stripped it also.

the doves are lurking waiting for their chance at the grain in the grass.

proud to be a feeding station.

Cedar wax wings are so pretty! We had a bird feeder outside my twins room when they were teenagers and the cedar waxwings were what got them reading the bird guides and learning the calls and songs.

Can you believe it. Cedar wax wings were here Jan-Feb along with a flicker, red winged black birds, & 20 robins. Earlier every year. The migration is always exciting for us birders.

The finches were here before the freeze, I have year round cardinals and bluejays. The whitewing doves nest here now, I have had 3 people ask me what the flocks of robins were, they don't normally see them in flocks here. Birders do have a good time in the spring and fall here,
