Apheloria virginiensis millipede

Fortunately, unlike the cow-killer ant, these bugs are essentially harmless.

"Don't worry too much though—like other millipedes, these beauties don't bite or sting," the post continues. "Just be sure to wash your hands and avoid touching your eyes if you happen to handle one."

The bright yellow markings should be a warning of toxin. Still, a beautiful insect.

I've seen those here in Ky. I've never smelled one though 🙂 Our climate is very much the same as Va.

What kind of psychopath picks up random millipedes and then eats without washing their hands? Those people deserve to be removed from the gene pool.

Candidates for the Darwin Awards?

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
