Anemone hybrida also known as Anemone japonica or the Japan Anemone. A lovely thing, a little invasive but great in shade, there are a number of good types including a beautiful white one with a golden heart.
That's it. Thank you. When I Googled it showed several varieties. The one growing on the south side of my house in full sun is Anemone japonica Fall Charm. Which it said to be better grown in a shady spot.
I’m having another go at Dog Rose …also known as wild briar!
Very close, but the leaves don't match at all. Dog rose has pointed serrated glossy leaves. Mine has soft textured deeply cut palmate leaves.
It looks like the Rosehip flower…so Rosehip bush.
Nope, the flowers and leaves are different. Thanks.
Looks like primrose to me
I am inclined to agree.
My primroses have a very different leaf. Google Lynn says it's some type of anemone. This one is a double but it does have the same leaf.
Here is what my primrose's look like.
"Showy Evening Primrose Non GMO Seeds - Oenothera Speciosa" [seedterra.com]
It grew there on its own and comes back bigger every year.
Primrose have a very different upright reddish stamen and pistil. This one has a fluffy gold cluster.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
