I know it's tough to mow on a steep hill , and at his age , additionally , it's dangerous to his health . He's found a wonderful solution for both his mowing problem and as an environmentalist . I sincerely hope he does go to court and wins ! ! !

Why would they have a problem with the whole property being a garden? And the guy looks awfully goid for 80. He is obviously doing something right.

To maintain property values, or a vendetta of some merit. If a garden is maintained it enhances both the environment & property values.

Such bullshit with so much other important things needing attention!

This is what the BTK killer did. Go around and maintain authority over grass heights.

Oh man! Thanks for sharing!
Moriarty can win this case, and he obviously should. I hope he gets neighbors to speak up in court, and he should be in touch with his nearest nature conservancy for advice, support, and reference resource.
I recently read a book titled "Fire the Landscaper," by a successful traditional professional landscaper-turned environmental activist. He himself was sued by his city for similar code violations. He had so many neighbors show up to sing his praises and also managed to explain just how irresponsibly damaging traditional lawns are for the environment that he won his case and a standing courtroom ovation.

Wow! I have been supporting this battle for decades. I am joyful that your story was a victory for gardeners.
