December blooms. The gardening book says these Silverberry (Elaeagnus) bushes bloom in Fall and the berries are are supposed to be ripe in the Spring. The book says they are fragrant and are they ever. I noticed the buds earlier, but didn't realize they had opened until I detected their sweet fragrance. Quite a treat for December. The photos don't show the speckles on the flowers well. They are a bit more noticeable when the image is enlarged
Sorry about the sideways pictures. Everything I tried before to reorient pictures hasn't worked.
