I went out to take a picture of my night blooming lotus, and came upon an orgy. It looks like the rain brought out the females. The baby toads chow down on insects (fleas, ants, and other small critters). So once they hatch out in about 5-7days, I'll start feeding them until the become toads.

Great pics, and the lotus is gorgeous! I hope you didn't disturb those cute toads on their big date night!

The desire to mate is so strong I could have gotten into the pond and the 4 that were already locked in an embrace would not be phased. But after I took my pictures I left them alone.

What a gorgeous flower Glenn! Love all the Toads! Do yours sing at night? We have several in my son’s backyard and I sometimes sit out late at night when I can’t sleep and listen to their chorus! 😍

The males have been singing for weeks now, I kind of felt sorry for them, since it was an all male choir. But tonight the women showed up.

@glennlab Yay for the girls!! Everybody is going to have fun tonight!! 🤣

The moon is incredibly bright today. Sturgeon Moon or Salmon Moon, some kind of fish moon.

This is the latest in the year I have had toads breed. With the luck I have been having I'll take any new life around here I can get.
