It is never too early to start thinking about planning your garden, even your very first one. I hope I am able to have one at the next place I live, even if the only thing I can grow is lettuce. There is nothing better than a salad made from freshly picked lettuce. [thegardenbeds.com]

My garden is planted for the birds, bees, butterflies and wildlife. I fail miserably with veggies - it might have a lot to do with I don't really like them... 🤔 😁

Well, thank you for feeding the wildlife…especially the pollinators!

I've always had a problem growing veggies. I never want to cut them down. They seem alive.

Me, too! I choose to grow hydroponically, harvesting only some of the plant while leaving the bulk to grow. I typically harvest (for just me, though I often give it away) every other week. My plants are right at a year old and almost ready to retire as they are either bolting or too big (top heavy, fall over).

With lettuce, you can break off just the leaves you want to eat, then more leaves will grow. For quite a while, anyway.
