Surprise! Alaska has farm country too. Mostly located in Matanuska Valley are many hay, vegetable and livestock farms.
The unique soil and extended daylight in the summer yield to producing world record size fruits & veggies such as a 138 pound cabbage, a 2,051 pound pumpkin and a 64 pound cantaloupe.
These are often donated after the fact to local wildlife conservation facilities, where the animals can enjoy the literal fruits of their labor. 🫎
It does surprise me!
Now tell me that you're using wind, running water and (dare I suggest it)- Solar photo-voltaic power?
There is no free heat when the sun doesn't shine... even a cloudy day will be much cooler. Photovoltaic and other energy sources cannot provide enough heat...
