Fascinating!! If Cuba can do it, there is no reason the US cannot do it. That would be a big bump to quality of life.

Except many places in thus country do not have good conditions for growing food 1/2-2/3 of the year.
@annewimsey500 This is true, however when we can grow food we should be doing it.
@annewimsey500 - Gardening all year is possible even in in Alaska. I just garden indoors when it is too cold outside. And I keep eating fresh tomatoes all winter. [alaskagardenadventures.com]
