Sour cherry processing update:
Dry-roasted a bunch of cherry pits on the grill while cooking dinner last evening.
NOTE: added an interesting ambience to the steaks and asparagus.
After dinner wine on the verandah while watching the chipmunks discover the bonanza.
STATS: Cookie sheet cleared in 32 minutes. Maximum observed chipmunk cheeks capacity = 19 pits.
That's funny! 19 not 20!

Does the dry roasting make it so they can crack them?
It just dries them out. Then they don't mold when I store them for winter feeding. They might be easier to crack. I'll ask a "munk" next time one sits under my hammock.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
