Every summer in Olympia, WA. I would pick a pair of old tennis shors to sacrifice to the blackberry stains gods! Heehee. I miss those acres of wild blackberries. There is nothing like that here in the Gulf South. There are blackberries, but they are puny and too few to do much with. ?
To this day, my sentimental favorite dessert of all is blackberry cobbler with melted vanilla ice cream. Mmm
We had much more of the hybrid black raspberries in Upstate New York. No one else seems to have heard of them.
And I still do.
@Sheannutt I have some growing in my garden so don't have to take a road trip.
@Sheannutt I've been picking on mine for a couple of weeks now. Of course, I'm sharing some with the birds, squirrels, and a friendly tortoise that comes by every now and then.
@Sheannutt Patience. Here, they are normally ready to be picked around the 4th of July.
@Sheannutt That reminds me. I need to go pick some now, for the health of the fat critters running around here.
@Sheannutt Only got a large handful. I have a 4' x 5' blackberry bed. Had big plans of making a cobbler, but they haven't rippened in mass for me to do that. I like them in cereals and on ice-cream. What do you do with the ones you pick?
@Sheannutt Yes, I bet you are.
Beware the chiggers .

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
