The Calla lily seeds I started indoors this past winter are producing Calla Lily-like leaves. Three years until flowers from seed, I'm told.

Maybe not. You've gardened enough to know that the general rules have exceptions. Maybe this will be one of those times and you'll get blooms this year : ) I'm an optimist when it comes to growing things.

I love growing plants from seed, it's a challenge but it feels much more rewarding than just buying plants at the store and popping them out of their plastic packs and sticking them in the ground - plug and play.

I think I planted them where they get too much afternoon sun. I'm going to start at least 50 seeds this winter and if I'm successful, I'll Plant the seedlings back around our "creek bed" in semi shade.

@bigpawbullets Sounds lovely . Someone gave me a gift of one , which I put in my morning-side planter . I think even only getting the morning sun , is a bit too much for it . It's most certainly not happy about the heat .
