Went to my trout pond to take a photo with my camera; well that failed totally; the freshly charged battery must be screwed. However, while cursing out yet another electronic devise's failure to operate as advertised, I looked down onto the floor of my truck and low and behold there be my iPad.
So, here is a picture of my private trout pond.
The pond is about 22 feet deep and has an area of approximately 1.25acres. It is currently home to at least 200 rainbow trout and about a dozen triploid grass carp. At the far end you can see the solar panels that power an air compressor, there is also a wind power aeration system. These aeration systems are necessary to provide oxygen during the 6 or so, month when the pond is covered in three or more feet of ice.
Swim in there , too !
I have but at the moment there is no floating dock so getting in and out involve a lot of mud. Dogs love it too.
Spring fed? Really pretty!
Its not spring fed but in contacts the ground water table at about 9 feet below max depth.
@HeathenFarmer Ah I wondered how you had water enough for all 4 seasons with the fish!
Very cool.
@RavenCT It sits in a water course so spring melt and heavy rains help keep it full.
