Just plant lots of native hardwood Legumes. They love Legume trees like Black Locust, Honey Locust and Indigo Bush. They are all Midwestern trees and shrubs, and Silver Spots lay on all. The adults are territorial and very fast. They are difficult to capture on camera. I got lucky with this enraptured feeder. They love to nectar on various prairie flowers.
There are other things you can plant for butterflies. #1 at the top of the list is Milkweed native to your area
