Now go find a "fragmatisima" (sp?) the scent is heaven, large white flower.
It is an unusual color for Rhoddys. I have several in my yard and I really like the miniature ones.
I once worked with the Nature Conservancy and one big task was Scotch Broom removal. It is an extreme invasive and hard to eradicate. [invasivespecies.wa.gov] I asked a botanist where it was native and he said Scotland (the climate there keeps it from being invasive). I then asked if there was an invasive species in Scotland and he answered, yup the Rhododendron! Funny how that works.
yes it is!
I remember rhododendrons spreading through English woods growing to the size of tank low loaders. All with dark purple flowers. I tried growing one here and the lack of water and heat quickly killed it.
The broom gives a lovely colour display.
@FrayedBear There are different types of Scotch Broom besides the insidious yellow one. I had a beautiful white/red variety and it was not invasive.

@JackPedigo Thanks for that I don't know how it would fare in our heat and dry.
I don't think I've ever seen a yellow one. And you got a good guy there.
Yes he is! And he loves to see a plain, ordinary or downright neglected yard become a true thing of beauty.....it has become "our thing" and this is the 4th house/yard we've tackled together.
Beautiful. I've never seen a yellow one either.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
