Here is another idea if you have extras after the birdhouses.
This is a bread warmer - the little thing in the bottom is soapstone you can heat it and then wrap your bread in the little towel, put gourd back together and viola it keeps your bread warm.

You could always make an "eye pod" from some of them. Or, maybe a nice koi container. 😉

You may want to keep the doorways a bit smaller , than your previous ones .

Good idea. I looked up entrance size in a birdhouse building book I've got. That hole saw is correct for warblers. I'll drop down a size for the finches. Thanks for reminding me!
