Just don't ever try to "restrict" them from moving...or they will insist that you don't quite harshly.
Good news about bee keepers and honey collectors; most bee keepers are going to more "neutral-smoke" for "smoking" hives...
"Smoke masks alarm pheromones which include various chemicals, e.g., isopentyl acetate that are released by guard bees or bees that are injured during a beekeeper's inspection. The smoke creates an opportunity for the beekeeper to open the beehive and work while the colony's defensive response is interrupted."
They still can be "stung" if they trap or compress an individual; so careful bee-keepers avoid doing this.

Empathic space with pollinators and proverbial canaries in the coal mines are saving not losing lives
