Not really a garden flower but certainly related to many, the meadowsweet, Filipendula ulmaria, is in full flower now in the hedgerows all around. It was once used as a herb since it contains aspirin, and as a sweetener for drinks. You may grow a Fillipendula or two in the garden but I think that the wild form is special. I do not know if it grows world wide or is it just a Western Europe plant ? About three feet high it likes a damp soil best.
find it wild and in gardens around England - often at rear / middle of a planted border
It's beautiful. Wish I had some for my yard.
