So I've got a plant that is blooming for the first time for me and I'm pretty blown away. It's a cultivar of Beschorneria yuccoides called 'Flamingo Glow'. The foliage is variegated as well but the flower stalk takes it to a whole other level. None of the flowers is open yet. They're variegated as well. If you like it San Marcos growers says it is hardy down to 10 to egrees Farenheit. If you're tempted Annie's Annuals and Perennials has it and will ship it to you.
Is it a polymorph? Doubled or tripled Chromosomes? We have that with Hibiscus out here in Florida; but I've never seen one like that! Wow!
You may be right. I don't really know about that. Here in the coastal bay area we don't have enough heat to make them happy, though you do see some around. The colors can be amazing.
Oops I don't know how to edit a post. But I want about the hibiscus.
@MarkWD Wow. I did some research; there's double and even triple chromosomal Hibiscus varieties out there...not sure if the genetics has been done with other flowers...but it seems logical;

allotetraploids in Hibiscus
Wow ! Is that related to the Yucca plant ?
I believe so. The second name indicates that it is yucca-like in its foliage but I believe it is even more closely related to agaves. (I really shouldn't rely on my memory like this.) But the leaves are soft tipped and the rosette that sends up a flowering stalk will die back, hopefully after pupping out.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
