It was the possibility of making a garden like this which finally got me interested in making a garden. You can see photos of each garden area by clicking on the link to it. This was the garden which inspired me to make my own. Unfortunately I find no videos and no photos taken by others.

I did take these four photos long after the garden's maker had died when someone had tried to give it some maintenance, but it is still a pale reminder of what it had been.

For the U. S. Contingent, this is potentially useful. Ranks native plants to your zip code, in order of how many native species of caterpillars they host. Why caterpillars? Because they form the crucial basis of food needed for birds to raise their young, yes, even birds we like to think exist on seeds and berries.

Not much good for wildlife either. Messy gardens are better gardens.

During the Great Depression the top pic was what you would find and the coming depression is going to make the Great Depression look rather small.

Unless you are playing croquet or bowls.

@FrayedBear Or lawn tennis or golf. Maybe of some use in these boring (for some) times. Plus, some in the top foto are not 6' apart. lol

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
