As a public school teacher for over 30 years I recited the pledge every school day and always skipped under god. I tell people now days since I said the pledge so much, I am “grandfathered in” and never have to say it again. 
BTW I served in the military for six years and do not remember ever saying the PoA.
We used to talk about indoctrination by other societies and pretend we don’t do that.
