A plea to football fans - There are some (stress SOME, NOT ALL by any means) Liverpool supporters who now HATE Manchester City. This is after City won the league of course. PLEASE don't put hate out there in the world, especially over football.
Enjoy the rivalry and be disappointed when your team came oh so close to the prize but try to accept City won over the whole season. I have to say this even to members of my own family - keep it in some sort of perspective. Football should bring people together. This may all be pie in the sky but I'm saying it anyway.
Iām neutral on this issue,...not having any allegiance to either team!
To many, going to football on a Sunday is way more important than going to church or casting a vote.
Fortunately, all the soccer fans I know love banter rather than animosity - and when my local bar is showing a major game it can be hilarious! Some of the comments are truly inspired. None are ever vicious.
It was great fun to hear Manchester United supporters cheering on Liverpool games, then apologising for supporting such a crap team from such a crap town!
This to me is the true spirit of the sport.
For these sort of people football goes way beyond just football, it tribalism.
