Music is very difficult for me. Collecting CDs & listening to music was Georges passion. That kind of thing is hard to escape.

ive always (and it seems to apply to those of us of a particular time and age) associated music with milestones in my life, and this is no different. and i too have a rather extensive musical collection, though these days those seem to be digital rather than vinyl.

We all have triggers that bring on the tears....after 8 years in my case there are still a few, but less than there used to be. I think this song is particularly tear inducing and I would therefore tactfully suggest you bin it! I believe in being positive and it’s funny how the memory holds onto happy times and these are the only things I remember now. I rarely think of our 38 years together and cry, just smile and wish we’d had a bit longer so we could have fulfilled our retirement dreams together. Keep strong, keep positive, hug those grandchildren and great grandchildren .....and keep away from those tear jerking country songs, that is my advice. ?

I recall listening to the Band back in the mid/late 60s while in middle school and on into high school, but i have to confess, i never ever considered them to be a country music act, but then again, i do think of the grateful dead as quintessentially so. i don't mind getting a bit melancholy every once in a while at this point (2 years this december), but i get your point: don't dwell on the heartbreak and sorrow. thanks, truly.
