Today is the anniversary of my husbands birth. He's been gone over four years.
I make sure to acknowledge this day because he was all of my life for 40 years. I'm no longer soul-shattered-desperate-broken.
I miss him, he was my best friend and we grew up together. The me I was, died slowly after he died, it's been a painful rebirth. He will always be a part of me.
The part now is dealing with the life I wake up to everyday. Knowing who your friends are, whom you can depend on. There have been some rude awakenings. I won't lie. I need friends.

After devastation comes reconstruction. As we turn the page on the last chapter of our life (Happily Married), we begin writing the new chapter (Single Life). Going forward has many challenges but that means some successes. This is cause for hope!
