I’m new. I lost my husband 12/27/17 after nearly 38 years. I miss him so much but I find I’m doing better than I thought I would. I think we did a good job of making sure we left nothing unsaid. But I do miss having smart conversation.

I wish you the best; I lost my wife only about a year before your loss, but I'm thinking you were better prepared than I was, even though we knew it was coming. Maybe denial, maybe just not wanting to dwell on the inevitable.
Still, you sound like your ahead of the curve and looking forward rather than backward. Good for you. Be well young lady and keep posting.

I’m so sorry. I lost my husband two days after Christmas. Emotionally I’m up and down. I still keep forgetting he is gone.

It's OK to keep a presence alive....I do so after griefstricken when my dad died 12 Oct'89....I cherish all I learned from him. ...to this day I hear Benny Goodman songs in my head like he played when mom met dad dancing 84 years ago....it's OK if you just happen to forget also....my dad's dog Benji kept his smile and eyes alive for me....sorry for your loss but carry his words and gifts with you until you are ready, if ever, to move forward in new love....

I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband died 2 NOV 2017. I got through patches doing great, and I have stretches all I do is eat too much and binge watch Netflix. I find myself talking to my pets more.

If you find they are talking back, then you might have an issue. otherwise, chat away!

Heartfelt condolences on your loss. having shared so much of your life together, you're gonna miss him, it's only natural. glad you say you are doing well though, i couldn't say that for several years. it's now creeping up on four years for me and it's still rough, some times harder than others. i also miss good conversations shared. hard coming home to a house devoid of human companionship . . .
