A dying man goes to see his doctor, lawyer, and minister, and gives each one $10,000 in cash asking them to attend his funeral and for each to throw the money in his casket just before it is closed, so he can take it with him.
As the three men are leaving the burial and talking, the doctor says, "I have a confession to make. I've had several patients recently who could not pay their bills, so I kept $3000 of the money and threw in the remainder.
Next, the lawyer says, "I also have to admit that I've represented clients who could not pay, so I kept $6000 of his money. He won't miss it."
Lastly, the minister says, "I'm ashamed of both of you; I threw in the entire amount. I wrote him a check."
