Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the point of this site was to connect with like-minded people. Or is it expected that I grind through the levels like some computer game to meet other great people?

The goal is to always have the site free to use and find a way to keep scammers from flooding site with fake accounts and messages. Have you hit a limit yet in sending messages? My guess is no, right?

Well... as you're Level 6, you can initiate 32 new conversations with members from their profile page each day... is that enough? :)

we already have a god believer on here trolling us, we dont need to make it easy for them. the idiot said he was an atheist, then post about proving an evil god exist. we get enough trolls on the other atheist sites, please keep them off here, and make it hard for them.

We currently don't have such a filter but you can now report them as "troll" and we'll keep track of the reports and automatically ban them from posting on your content.

Yes! We're working on fixing the rotation bugs in photo uploads and hope to have the feature upgraded in the next couple of days. For distance search, you can sort by "Nearby" (perhaps we should change that to "Distance". Typically, with distance searches, people need to also have "Logged in since X"... but since we're only live for a month or so, it's moot for now. Thanks for the feedback!

Great feedback! Let me think of ways we can reduce (or at least deprecate) this type of behavior. I must admit that we're currently coding like crazy to improve the feature set and haven't been as diligent as we like in curating. Yes, this site should only allow criticism of IDEAS and not people. One of the goals with levels is to give semi-administration abilities to members who have shown their commitment to the site. We will soon add a "Report" button to replies too. Thinking that we could set "Report" report's weights proportionate to the reporter's level. Perhaps after a certain number of reports/page views, we can "grey out" the text... and remove if more reports come in. We currently do look at each report manually. Thanks!

Ah, there is... but there's a little bug in it still... for now, you can click "Most comments" then there is an up/down arrow, if you click that, it will sort by "Least comments". Eventually, we'll get the text fixed.

Yes, good points. We are slowly adding better support for our trans/other members... especially as we roll out better dating features. Do you (or others) have a suggestion what a "trans" icon would like? We could simply do a 50% filter of each but that might seem offensive... or perhaps a slider to choose?

Ann, I put your location for my account and it worked. Did you happen to update your location AFTER you had the problem with "nearby" searches? Sharon, I think I found the issue in your case and will find a way to fix it in the next couple of hours. You're in South Carolina, right? BTW, if you see fake profiles, please click the "Flag" icon on their profile and we'll remove (and find a way to reduce similar issues).

Yes, I can see that it could be considered a trick question to purists. We were just trying to come up with a measurement of the conviction that a god exists or not. Do you have a suggestion that could make it more clear and not be off-putting?
