I do not really understand what "show more" does: which of the posts are we *not* seeing already? How is the selection made of what we see and do not see by default and if we check all the "see more" boxes? If we check all of them will we see all the posts that exist?

Good question. Not all posts go to the main page. If there are some have been asked a few times recently, they go only in the category list (and on profile page). We also try to have the main page have different types of posts. Also, if someone posts 3-4 posts in a row that are about the same topic, 2-3 of them go on the category page only. If you see "new" on a category, that means that the most recently post there hasn't yet been seen by you. Complicated, eh? :)

@Dogpaddle Yep, agreed. The whole reason why we wanted to focus on "Agnostic" is that it shifts the conversation into evidence and proof... basically, shifting the burden of proof to the religious person.

Since there could be 1000+ tags, it might not be useful to sort them alphabetically (but I'll see if can do... it requires pagination/etc). For now, if you start typing two letters, it shows you the tags that start with them.

Ok, just put a link to the FAQ from the notification so that members don't get confused. Add/delete of replies (aka "sub-comments") do not trigger a notification. I also suspect that you'll see fewer "content deleted" messages as many of those were from older posts. I'll keep monitoring feedback to see if the % notification active remains high. We email members if/when we have to delete their posts...which is rare.

Grrrr... I was afraid of that. Made a lot of changes in the code in the last 8 hours and I might have accidentally sent out individual emails to some test accounts as we rolling it out. I'm really sorry that you go so many emails as I know how much of a hassle it is to delete them. I'll keep my eye on the system closely the next few days. It's not just you. It's us. We manually curate posts before they go live so that the front page has more interesting posts.. Comments/replies go live instantly for Level 5+. How about we make posts go live instantly on profile pages for level 2+ and then we review them later? We're also ...

Ok, just made it so if you are level 3 or higher, you can view posts on people's PROFILE page instantly. Yes, this doesn't yet make the site feel more alive as you have to know to go to their page to see the content. As far as the main page, I haven't found a good way yet to let things go live before we have a chance to curate them (many level 5+ people post things which are less interesting to make it to the main page). Only about 1/3 of posts make it there right now and I sometimes edit the title/etc to make them more readable. Let me think about making a secret "raw" main page option so you can see our incoming queue earlier.

Are these maps purely a snapshot or are they being continually updated? I imagine the former; I am pretty sure these aren't being refreshed. It would be interesting to see these develop. Would it be complicated to make it a feature? (Not a high priority but interesting)

Yep, this just got fix. All text now goes through a pre-processor so we can strip out bad words for people who don't want to see them. The old code just returned "obsolete" but we forgot to check the chat rooms :( Sorry.

We've always moderated the posts but were swamped coding these last few days to do it every few hours. We will soon work on a way for people to post more instantly for posts that show up on their profile page. Our goal is to select interesting posts for the main page and let other posts go into categories and on the "all category".

Our goal is to normalize unbelief by building a large and supportive community of atheists, agnostics, secularists etc. and perhaps help coordinate efforts to change politics. Yes, it does appear that we're an interesting bunch here. I'm really happy to see that overall there is is a lot of comradery. The only AI I'm thinking is to make it easier to identify people who are capable while you're just browsing around. The search form is for power dating users. True, the map has a fairly generous heat map but it's to be more illustrative. We preset level to 2+ so that the default as fairly interesting people. Set it to 1+ to view more members.

There should also be some way to forward a message to admin so they can see who it is if someone is sending scamming messages or something that is not appropriate.
