Does anyone else think it's weird when a dating profile says something along the lines of "I'm ...
birdingnut comments on Apr 15, 2018:
I'm VERY picky and specific in the hobbies of prospective dates. If they can't join me in body surfing the waves, hiking, climbing cliffs, ballroom dancing and riding horses, then what's the point of dating them? I can do these things fine by myself, but just wanted a companion/side-kick.

A swan like no other. Wow, what a beauty.
birdingnut comments on Apr 15, 2018:
Beautiful. But in the US, the mute swan is an invasive species that destroys the habitat for native swan species. It is NOT welcome here.
birdingnut replies on Apr 16, 2018:
@BettyColeman Responsible birders don't promote or feed such invasive species as House Sparrows, European Starlings, Mute Swans, etc. Since novice birders don't always know that, more informed people routinely inform them so they won't augment the problems by feeding them.

@DerekD One thing we did with my elderly dad when he was in a wheelchair and in diapers was to privately hire a caretaker to come in for 5-6 hours each day. This was in eastern KY where many such people are willing to earn extra cash taking care of the elderly and handicapped. The costs to us were minimal..we only paid a couple of dollars above the minimum wage per hour, but that trumped the wages of most low level jobs in that area. In our case, the caretaker asked for cash, to avoid tax problems and because that was the usual arrangement in that area, but dunno what your circumstances are.

Yet I've seen stuff that can't be explained..in Haiti (land of Voodoo) objects floating in the air, rocks throwing themselves at our roof, the sound of footsteps running down our hall or the thunder of someone kicking our walls. objects disappearing then reappearing a week later in some bizarre place. People waking up in the night choking. Places in the house being ice cold with the reek like that of a dead body, and dogs barking frantically when they passed those places. In those cases, I was still religious, and blamed evil spirits. But I could also see it as negative energy, activated by the beliefs of observers. I was able to get rid of such dark manifestations by 1.ignoring them 2.laughing at them 3.calmly telling the manifestations to STOP-even mentally. @Beach_slim (sigh) You seem to be equating someone's bio body with their gender identity. There are intersex people (people with genitals that can't be readily identified as male or female, or have the characteristics of both..i.e., a male with breasts), although they are rare, but even they have a preferred gender identity. People have a biological birth gender, a chromosomal gender (they could look female, but have XXY chromosomes, for instance) a gender identity..what gender they "know" they are. Part of me "knows" he is male, but because I take derris scandens, a local Thai herb, it blends my gender modes so that I only feel androgynous (mixed gender) now. I'm "nonbinary" because I don't strongly identify with either gender. A recent study found that 20% of Millennials identify as nonbinary. a social gender identity-how the person present in public. I dress androgynously, although if I increase the derris scandens I dosages take, I can tolerate some female clothes and jewelry. How they behave: My behavior is a blend of female and male, which matches my clothing and gender identity. I look like a delicate little female, a 65 year old woman, but if you were to try to keep up with me, you'd be shocked. I can out-hike, out-shoot, out-ride (horses and motorbikes), out-shoot (only at targets), and generally outdo most men at many things, and men who try to hike with me never ask again. This makes me a bit scary for normal males, but I attract men who love daring adventurous types.

birdingnut replies on Apr 11, 2018:
@alxa I'm talking about gender traits. People are on a gender trait spectrum..studies show that even the most "macho men" and "femme women" are only have about 80% of their birth gender's traits. Everyone is ultimately a gender blend..it just depends on how much. An online gender identity test showed me at 60% male in brain mapping, and that's about right. Many people don't seem to realize that the old binary idea of someone who is "male" or "female" speaking for "all" males or females is a fallacy. Studies show that male traits are mostly on the right side of the brain hemisphere and female traits on the left.

birdingnut comments on Apr 10, 2018:
I disagree with both daycare and preschool. Also bottles, baby food jars, public school in general, and most things US people seem to accept as normal. But, even if people use daycare, unless they used a church-affiliated childcare, these places are already secular.
birdingnut replies on Apr 11, 2018:
@Virgoan But it's detrimental anyway. Studies show that children who are cuddled and touched a lot grow up to be nonviolent and kind. Nursed children also acquire brain connections that never happen with bottle fed babies. They probably don't get much nurturing in a daycare center. But people need to work, so I hope they continue the trend to allow flex working hours and remote work.

In male mode, I could fall hopelessly in love just from a woman's looks, while my female side is picky, only choosing the most advantageous mates. I didn't even know that "falling in love" was real..thinking it was some commercial thing until I realized in 2014 that I'm transmale and stopped suppressing my male side. I soon found myself in love, besotted, and allowing my female love interest to treat me terribly. @Katrik Why do you care? Even plants have feelings. This is about sustainability and saving the planet..eating insects instead of spreading deadly pesticides everywhere to kill them. It reminds me of the story about when huge swarms of locusts used to wipe out the crops of people in the northwest territories. One woman didn't panic-she merely bought a bunch of turkey poults and raised them for free on the locusts, making a profit while the beef farmers lost everything.

birdingnut replies on Apr 10, 2018:
@alxa No, I mean that my transwomen friends don't think at all like any cis hetero women I know, yet they are blind to it. For instance, all of the US transwomen I know are obsessed with sex, flaunting their bodies in the skimpiest clothes they can find, even if they are in their late 50s and horribly out of shape. In their eyes, they are hot. They constantly say horrible, scatological things, show little concern for the feelings of their former wives. Nothing I say makes any difference..they don't listen, but just bulldoze everyone. Pretty much just act like men, but identify as women.

birdingnut replies on Apr 10, 2018:
@DaveSchumacher Possibly. The times I experienced astral projection, I actually went up to the roof, saw my body on the bed, then went on through the ceiling and went off to some other place or dimension, because all the "people" I knew were there. Or their soul energy was, I suppose. I remembered several past lives, and the "inbetween place" since childhood, so didn't think much of it. It just seemed normal.

birdingnut replies on Apr 10, 2018:
It can be more complicated than that. The gender binary isn't absolute-like everyone in one gender is not the same as all the others, but we are all on a gender spectrum. For transwomen, for instance, they missed the experience of periods and childbirth, being treated as a second class citizen, etc. I have many transwomen friends, and they do NOT think like women, although they all claim to. Same as I might be partial transmale but own mind is influenced enough by female hormones to be very different from them. I don't slaughter animals, for example, but I do hunt them to take photos of them. Yet in part of my mind, I've always been a male, and I certainly have many male mannerisms hard-wired into my personality. I'm androgynous, and a partial transmale. Before I learned to take the Thai muscle relaxer herb, derris scandens, I was bigender, or gender fluid, moving from one gender perspective to the other. It was confusing, and I couldn't remember what I had done when I was in the opposite gendermode, so thought people were dreadful liars. The derris scandens blended my two gender modes and also eliminated both dyslexia symptoms, and dysphoria..for ME. I don't know why it works, or if it will help anyone else, but it's sold on Amazon.

But after about 40 days, your appetite comes back, and that's when I start to break the fast. It takes as long as the fast, however, to incrementally ease back into your normal diet.
