I'm watching The Princess Bride on tv right now. Carey Elwes was my first crush. I got to meet him recently and tell him. He was so kind and gracious.

Have you gotten to meet a celeb crush and did it exceed/meet/ruin your fantasy?

I've met and proposed to Leonard Nimoy, Brent Spiner and Malcom McDowell, they all turned me down but Malcom called me cuddly.

@NerdyOkieDude No one else does 😟

What did Leonard reply?...let me guess...That would be ilogical..?..and then you said something like " Leonard, you'd have to be out of your Volcan mind to turn me down!!" ??

I've met several celebrities and they are exactly as I suspected, good and bad. But I would literally swoon if I was even in the same breathing space as Sam Elliot.

I've never gotten to meet Hollywood crushes, but I've met many musicians/bands and a couple famous people at book signings/appearances for whatever.

My favorite encounter was Bruce Campbell... BEST GUY EVER! He was so friendly, cheerful and had a charm/charisma that was very contagious. Favorite memory ever!

Had a friend that worked for a record company in '98-'00, so I've met everyone from Ozzy Osbourne to Corey Taylor to Marilyn Manson. Not a single complaint there as most were very civil, social and down to earth.

Only underwhelming experience I've had was meeting baseball stars from when I was in 5th or 6th grade.. that was pretty 'meh'.

24 years ago I got to meet and sing with Tom Petty...he was my first crush and I am still shocked and heartbroken (pun intended) over his death.
I can't believe I live in a world were Tom Petty is no longer alive.
I saw him over 50 times in concert.
His is the only celebrity death that I have ever cried over.
He was a super good guy.

Other than that...I also got to meet John Barrowman at a ComicCon and I totally love him....and David Tennant too.
I've met a lot more celebrities...but they weren't crushes.

I got to work on set with Tom Hiddleston and he smiled at me from 4 feet away without a shirt on but I didn't get to talk to him.

Carey was also my first celeb crush lol

No. Ann Margaret doesn’t run in my circles.

Meeting a beloved or admired celebrity has always been surreal for me, as though it isn't quite happening or that my reality has somehow been twisted. Probably the biggest celeb "crush" I ever had was meeting Yvonne Craig--Batgirl from Batman--when I was six at a telethon. I'm thinking I drooled and said something incomprehensible even for my then young age...

Met quite a few working in the hospitality and entertainment industries. Nicest guy I ever met was James Brown the football player. I drove him around at the 2008 Super Bowl and he was a gentleman of the highest order. As for crushes I me Jamie Gertz the actress many years ago bouncing at a club in Austin, TX. She was friends with one of our female bartender's from growing up and I got to hang out and hit the clubs with the two of them after we shut down. She was a sweetheart.

Oh shit.. I forgot Chevy Chase too, good tipper too.

I met Van Morrison three times and he played me one of his albums that he had put on a cassette ..he told me and a co-worker that outside the studio we were the first members of the public to here it..and wanted our opinion! Surreal!
Also two members of U2..Mat Dillon very briefly....

My friend and I snuck into a sound check with a band called Stabbing Westward many years ago. They tweaked the lyrics to a song and sung to us. Good times. Yours is way better, though!

@Alimacbean. That sounds pretty groovy actually Ali, I mean I was just in the right place at the right time, but you guys proactively made it happen, I think yours gets the prize here..?

Adding to my own comment, I've also met the following:
Kevin Bacon - Nice guy
Vern Troyer (Mini - Me) - Lovely
Guy Fieri and a gas station - Bought me a Coke.
Stephan Jenkins from Third Eye Blind - Kind of a jerk, looking for a lay.
Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden - My favorite person ever and is the nicest guy in the world and even responded to a pic I posted on his FB page and said he remembered me.
Lots of bands, as I was a frequent concert goer in my youth.

I've met several celebrities and I was not disappointed.

I love when celebrities aren't jerks and take the time to be kind to their fans. 🙂

I don't have a celebrity crush but there are a few who I admire but am not sexually attracted to (because most are men and I'm a straight man). And I've never met any of them. The short list is: Morgan freeman, Patrick stewart, lavar Burton, and even though he's not a household name chuck schuldiner (who brought heavy metal to new heights and died in 2001).

As you wish. 🙂

I went off him when I saw 'Kiss The Girls', a vile misogyny fest. He is handsome though.

Oh no! He was the hot bad guy!

@Alimacbean

I think there were two. It's depressing. That film is so misogynistic, in so many ways. I remember the reviews. But he is extremely handsome.

Never met any celebs but I love the Princess Bride, haven't seen it in far too long.

I met Krysta Cameron, the original lead singer for iwrestledabearonce at a Meet and Greet prior to one of their shows. She was cool enough, but I'm an introvert with terrible social anxiety, so I barely talked to her. It was just really weird and awkward.

Sherry Jackson. She was on the Make Room For Daddy TV show. She was in an episode of Star Trek. I met her in a bar when l lived in Taos in the 90's. We had a very nice evevening. She was still very pretty and very nice.

That's a damn good movie! The only kids movie I like better is Labyrinth! Celebrity crush, no. Musicians, yes. Look at the guy to my right on my profile pic. Very pleasent guy.

I've met a few famous folks along the way.
But no, Joni Mitchell never called, wrote or came by.
Much sad....so disappoint.

Not really a crush but used to watch America's Top Model and Nigel was the judge and photographer. Eight years ago had a job interview in NYC and ran into him at a soup and sandwich place in the same building. He ended up being an asshole and wanted nothing to do with a fan while he was getting his lunch.

I get that impression from him.

My kids and their friends used to play the Princess Bride nonstop, to my horror. I hated that movie..and the misogynistic, abusive ways of the character, Westley, in the movie.

Every time they played it, and Westley was dragging Buttercup around and threatening her, I'd imagine how I'd take him out with one knee, and hoped my daughter wasn't learning to accept abusive behavior.

We must have watched different movies. The one I watched had them fall in love when buttercup bossed him around, finding chores just to torment him and he acquiesced to them all saying "as you wish" until she realised that what he meant was "I love you"

@MattHardy That was at the very beginning of the movie. Then he went off to make his fortune and disappeared. Four years later he returned in disguise and "captured" her.
