I’m not saying I’m smarter than Steve Jobs but, I would have made the iPhone charger cable about 5 feet longer.

Only if the impedence isn't correct. The length of the cable doesn't really make a difference.

Apparently, the short cord is to discourage usage while charging, which may damage the battery... not sure how true that is, seems to make sense...

...and you probably would have cost them more money and not increased sales of the cable, and created issues for inefficient cable. They're a certain length for a good reason. There's knock-offs you can buy that are longer but don't work as well. Search amazon.

How about an extension chord between your plug pak and wall socket. They are a lot cheaper than rotten apples.

It was supposed to be funny. I wasn't really looking for a solution. ?

@Duke I know and i wanted the two points and couldnt find the energy to find wittier response ... Hang on he died long before Jobs was born so how could he have a reply?

Get an after-market cord.

Have you ever tried those? 9 out of 10 don't work. Apple has a weird way of determining which chords are actually manufactured by Apple. But, I did find a workaround for that too. Just get a USB extension cable and use it with your Apple chord. Works every time. But, alas, it appears the joke has been lost here.

@Duke I don't do the cheap ones. I go to the battery place and they sell me a high quality cord that works. go to amazon and check out the on-sale cords. many of them are excellent.
