I find dating difficult, period, but particularly so as the vast majority of people that I meet are religious, even excessively so. I really would like to meet with someone who wants to know more about me than the church that I go to, and who can relish the moment, rather than looking forward to chucking this life away...

At this stage in my life, I would avoid dating believers. As part of a couple, I think belief or not in the supernatural gods should be something to bond over, rather than to constantly debate. If there was some insanely intense connection from the get go, I would not knee jerk with rejection, but we would REALLY need to get clear on if or how such a pairing could work...

First of all its difficult to date period. Secondly, I wouldn't date a believer unless they accepted my beliefs. I once had a year long relationship after my divorce with a Catholic guy who had studied for the priesthood. We went to a Unitarian Church because he felt faith would help us bond-as a family-including my eight year old handicapped daughter. It did not work.

No, the only way I would date a woman believer is to use them for sex and I can't do that because it goes against my nature to use other people in a dishonest manner.

I had the same problem, I am spiritual but don't put myself under any religious category because I am open to meeting open minded people and other cultures and religious but not if they are going just dominate the relationship with their views or beliefs and not to consider my own views or beliefs as well. It should be shared equally to learn about one another but not to control each other.

I can not imagine dating someone who was a believer. I would not want to think they were a sucker/fool, etc. It would be a matter of a lack of respect...

I thought I was the online who felt that way

Justbekind- You are not the only one who feels like that about the "sheep." I get a big kick out of the guys who list their fav book as the bible etc, who send me a wink, smile, heart etc. My profile clearly states my belief system. Unless they think they can SAVE me, why are they messaging me again???? It is laughable.

Oh my gosh never...then we would be off on the weekends looking for big foot or the loch ness monster. I think that a lack of logic would impeade any potential relationship. I would have believers as friends and family unless..they had a problem with my beliefs.
