Sarah Huckabee Sanders & Steve Miller were refused service at a restaurant. How does that feel?

It was wrong. Just like a bakery denying cake to gay people or denying service to people of color. I understand why the owner felt the way she did, but it was wrong. If Sarah had been making a scene or been disorderly then I could understand it, but the accounts on both sides said that there was no disturbance. This sets a bad presidence.

When businesses open their doors to the public, they must open them to everyone on the same terms, regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, or – under many state laws – sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Even when a business owner’s religious beliefs may motivate her to discriminate, that doesn’t justify an exemption from our civil rights laws. (Last paragraph was from aclu.og)

Being a liar is not protected, but I do think it is bad form. There was a time we could disagree without hating the person. I certainly do not support this administration or liars but we should show our anger by voting!

I agree with you. But I did take some joy in someone giving "them" a taste of their own medicine so to speak. A guilty pleasure secretly laughing. Vote November 6th paper ballot.

@Countrywoman to be totally honest,,, I did too. 🙂

Wonderbar-Nazis don't deserve to eat in public. Let them crawl back in their holes.

Wow... the vitriol and down right ugliness in you peoples hearts is really disturbing. If someone did this to a gay couple you would be wanting to shut the restaurant down. But because she's a Republican, you applaud the restaurant owner? Really? How pathetic and ugly you are for liking this. You make me glad to be a Republican because you folks are really sick. lAmLove,,, no you're not.. YouAreHate. And l feel sad for your.

@Akfishlady It is a waste of time to try & reason with the unreasonable of which he is one.

Please go & live in North Korea. Seems the First Lady doesn't give a fuck either as you so often say. We are haters because these are not Republicans. They are hijackers of the Republican Party as George Will, Steve Schmitt, Joe Scarborough, Mary Matalin have said & have resigned their membership. Attention. More to come as the GOP is no longer. See you in November.

I think separating children from their parents at the border, locking the children up in camps across the country then losing track of the children to the point where you are now not sure which kids belong to which people is sick. I also think trying to cut Medicaid to pay for a tax cut (last year) is sick. I think trying to purposely sabotage the health care exchanges to jack up insurance rates is sick. I think putting the fates of almost 1 million Dreamers in limbo is sick. So yeah, people like Sanders and Miller don't deserve respect and they should pay the price anytime they go out in public. Actions have consequences.

These assholes deserve anything done to them. Restaurants can refuse service to anyone they wish, how do you know they are not gay or lesbian, being married means nothing just look at Pence.

People in our free society have always had the right to refuse service to someone because of their conduct and for their poor exercise of judgement when they go out into the world and decide how to conduct themselves. Unlike race, gender, sexual orientation, age or physical disability, one's conduct and character are characteristics that one can choose and control. One does not get special protections from the constitution for being an asshole or an idiot. When you associate yourself with people of low character - and particularly if you make yourself the champion or defender of harmful ideologies - expect that there will be people who will elect not to do business with you.

I don't know how to feel about this. I would not like to be refused service at an establishment. Do restaurants really want to refuse service to customers? How do you make money then? This may cause other potential customers to not patronize them. If I am a business owner, I would not care who you are. Just come and spend your money. I don't know...

I don't know is an acceptable response. There are consequences to all choices. Do I think one should be able to refuse service to anyone? Yes & no. But it does make a statement as to how folks are feeling about the current administration.

Now that is just awesome. They are both toxic.

Too bad a gay couple wasn't behind them and got seated.

Yes perhaps we could gofund an eatery that refuses to serve straights. Wouldn’t that be something.

might be a wake up call to them (probably not) I find it somewhat humorous there are people objecting because they are not neutral to a political stance.
If a rattlesnake shows up at my place I do not kill it but I do invite it to sing the song of its people elsewhere.
