Nothing like an apparent domestic violence situation waking you up in the middle of a good sleep. The kids' screaming was heart-wrenching, and I'm glad the police finally showed up ... now I'm wide awake at 2:30 am ... UGH

I'm sorry that happened.

Here in Thailand I live in apartment buildings but I usually feel like I'm the only one in the building.

The walls are concrete block so I hear nothing, even though all the rooms have balconies and the sliding screen doors to the balconies stay open year around.

The Thai themselves are a quiet, polite people.

I live in a townhouse community and it's usually very quiet. These people seemed to be right outside my bedroom window, they were that loud.

I feel for the kids in this situation. They're going to grow up thinking that this shit is normal. That this is how people interact with one another. Then the cycle will begin all over again.

Exactly!

Is it bad for me to say I’m happy I wasn’t there?? (Not that your lack of sleep makes me happy).

MrLizard Level 8 June 25, 2018

Nope. I wish I hadn't been there either.

Sounds dreadful.

I hope you can get back to sleep and I hope no one was hurt.

Bad, bad, bad. I am very proud to say... I had never pushed or struck a woman in my entire life. And that include as a child laying my hands on any of my sisters.

Wow I know what that sounds like I'm so sorry for the kids. I had this happen just last week the people right above me, didn't last long no cops showed up. I do not like apartment living but I have no choice.
