What's your dream job?
Since I dream for a living, have been doing my dream job for Over 40years, as a snow and sandsculptor. Now, changing to buildings eco substainable homes and film documentaries.
To experience the American dream, you have to be asleep,. Just do it yourself.
Dream job? Getting paid to drink coffee on my patio would be sublime.
Realistic dream job? I'd like to own my own hotel.
Getting paid to write would be pretty awesome, too.
Ever consider indexing?
I could go into business with you in the coffee drinking company.
@bigpawbullets Indexing? I suppose I might consider it, if I knew what it was...
@Minta79
The index in the back of a book isn't written by the author, or the publishing house. A professional indexer builds it from the final draft of the book. They make a pretty good living. And all you need is a laptop computer.
@bigpawbullets Yes, that is something I would enjoy doing.
@Minta79
I took the government certification course years ago. It's a home study syllabus.
@bigpawbullets Something like this? [asindexing.org]
@Minta79
Exactly. The course I completed was through the department of agriculture. Apparently correspondence certification courses were handled through them. This was back in the 80s though.
If money were no object, I would love to volunteer to shop for older people and shut ins. Either taking them or doing the shopping for them. Getting time to visit with them after delivering their goods.
Lawyer
@Redcupcoffee
I’m inclined to argue and I believe in the law and justice.
Sound engineer. Professional death metal vocalist. Maybe both.
Bills. Kids. Adulting sucks big sweaty balls.
@Redcupcoffee though if you want to check out my vocal stylings, search "aftermathau" on YouTube. I'm the skinny bald bugger screaming his tits off.
That is an interesting question for me, because currently my dream "job" is HR for a big company like Chevron in their LDP. But I also plan on making a lot of investments in real estate and becoming independantly wealthy so both I guess? Lol what about you?
Retired. Working for someone else is slavery, not a dream.
Writing. I don't care if it's a sitcom or sketch comedy or novels. It's currently a pipe dream, but there you have it.
Self employment... Oh wait I'm already doing that
@Redcupcoffee I have a handyman / landscape maintenance services
Retired... I am on my dream "job". Of all jobs and titles ever held by me.... the one with most responsibility. A clerical error would had landed my boss and me in jail... that important. CMS Custodian of a full account on a Naval Base. I was the "authority" in the island. I even got to go on a submarine to load some. The experience helped me a lot on other jobs later. Never got any of my bosses or me in trouble or hot water. Pride on such Responsability. I don't lift a finger now. I won't... period! No need to dream on jobs anymore.
Not necessarily in order of preference...
Gym/Health Club Owner
Pub Owner/Operator
In Semi-Retirement - I wanna be one of those security guys at Disneyland. You know, the older dudes wearing the white hats. They are quasi-security and park ambassador/walking information kiosk. I think that would be a fun job.
I think I would also enjoy working to support the vacation/tourism industry in a tropical location like HI, or south FLA. Not sure what I'd do tho.
