After the past couple years of "thoughts and prayers", will prefer acting out to speaking out.

45 is a traitor and should be guilty of treason.

McCain speaks out the most but is he is dying - glioblastoma is a nasty disease. None of them seem to have any spine. Ben Sasse tweets out things but votes with Trump all of the time. The GOP get easily put a stop to this and hold Trump to account but they won't. With the arrest of the Russian spy lady yesterday and her ties to the NRA - it seems apparent that the Russians were funneling money via the NRA to boatloads of GOP candidates.

We are losing this information war to Russia. They don't have to use any physical weapons. They have weaponized the tech of our own creation (Facebook, etc.) combined with the know-nothing MAGA crowd's incredible gullibility to tear us apart from the inside. I think thousands of old cold warriors are spinning in their graves right now. And the GOP is complicit and servile to Russian money.

Their words are hollow AF. Unless they actually take action and DO something, their words mean nothing, as usual
I've already called ALL my elected reps this morning (all republicans), and made it clear that I expect them to do something immediately. I told them I expect them to act against 45's treason.

Speaking but not acting. And you know from past experience you can't believe a word they say. I think this is more in the line of covering their own asses, staying in office, than any actual "moral indignation".

Just waiting for the republican party to implode

We are past the time for waiting. We need to give them a push.

As Mark Twain said; "Thunder is good, thunder is impressive. But it's the lightning that does the work."

we need lightening and more

3

Yes, but that's all they're doing.

I think this nut job will keep pushing the envelope until even most of his supporters will have a hard time justifying their loyalty.

Honestly scary stuff. Look not at what the Repubilicans are saying for the truth. The reality is far worse. The United States democracy has been subverted and we have an openly treasonous president. Things are getting weird.

Where are Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Trey Gowdy, Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Lisa Merkowsky and other so-called Republican leaders. They must be having some difficulty finding their moral and patriotic gonads.

From what I read Rand Paul is backing herr drumpf. Don’t know about B..tch McConnell and Smug pr..ck Ryan.

McCain's full statement at his Senate web site.

Thank you!

Absolutely!!

All this does have me thinking though... so how are we going to ensure that our electronic polls are indeed secure for the next election cycle shenanigans?

As far as I know, most (maybe all) electronic voting systems are not on the internet.

Wow a republican with a pulse!

1

A true statement from a RINO which is totally against any Republican whom for the most part will only concur with the whims of the Corporate Donations, Lobbyists and Mitch Mc Connell"s advise after his having a conference call with the Koch Brothers whom pays his and many others handsomely come election time.

And that's coming from John McCain. I don't agree with him politically but I respect both his tenure and his military service and if McCain is raising a banner of conflict I believe the party will move to back him.

Not until Pence is installed as President.

@bingst ew. Just ew. But you may have a point there. I'm not sure his(orangey) whole upper echelon won't go down with him on this though.

@slydr68 honestly I'm hoping for a little good old fashioned backroom politics as he points at this to the old guard and goes 'this is either our last breath or our last chance to keep from going down with this prick.' A lot of these guys don't have much longer to leave a lasting legacy and backing this foolishness is going to put nails in the party's coffins.

I'm hoping they aren't all too complacent and detached from reality to realize their own self-interest no longer lies on the current path.

But I'm optimistic.

Yet another sad day for us ☹️
