Ouija boards are recommended for ages 8 and up. That's what's wrong with this country. You need to be 21 to drink alcohol but only 8 to summon demons.

This could end up as a court case. Underage vs US. By summoning demons, that is a spirit. A child going into a liquor store could also be considered summoning spirits.

Ouija...or yes yes boards from the french and german do not and have never connected people to demons or the dead...ever...it was trademarked to the Parker brothers and now to Hasbro it was meant to be a game for 8 year old upwards and sold as a parlour game...until twats decided they could communicate with dead people for no apparent reason.

Surely there are better ways to spend your money, a science book for instance.

I was lucky when I lived in Connicticut the drinking age back then was 18.
But even at that I had facial hair that made me look 18 even when I was just 16.
Back then it was pretty laxed, so I was never questioned when I bought beer.

I found a ouija board from the 70s made in Salem at an antique store. Had to have it. No strange demonic manifestations have followed it. ?

Insert Facepalm here......

I always thought it was odd too... but that's one way to grab an imaginary friend and go

Age limit would have been 3 and up but apparantly you can choke on demons.

2

And do not forget... 18 to vote. That lead me to question why requires less age to vote than to drink alcohol.

3

Not only that but when you are 18 they can give you a gun and send you over seas to kill people, but you can't have a beer afterwards.

Apparently demons are not as dangerous as spirits.

Brilliant! (As usual.) ?

I dare say alcohol is real, alcohol's effects on the body and brain have been confirmed by science enough to be regarded as fact.

Demons are not a scientifically verified phenomenon. And because mythology and folklore fascinate me I've done some research. The necessary ritual strategies to summon, bind, and protect oneself of the beings which would have been found in any of the Solomon-related texts or any other book on Demonology are very specific and if the right protections aren't employed you're dead, drooling insane, or you disappear forever.

I'm pretty sure if kids using ouija boards could summon demonic or ghostly entities we would know it...because Discovery or Travel channel would run a reality show with some goth-y douche summoning and interviewing demons.

Umm... The whole post was meant as sarcasm. Just a joke. Maybe I need to step up my humor game again. sigh

@Duke no that one's on me. This is one of those things that makes me think I'm a little bit on the spectrum.

I was...trying to be funny too. I realize it comes across as a very serious response, but it was an attempt at 'playing along' and I'm not always good at differentiating between my regular snarky humor and my 'obviously over analyzing a thing because both the thing and the analysis are
funny to me' snarky humor.

@geist171 my bad for not getting that! You're good!

@Duke 'and today on 'ghost talk' we have network favorite Anthony Bourdain. So (addressing the ouija board) how have you been?

(Spelling) f...u...c...k...o...u....t...
m...y...k...i...t...c...h...e...n.

Huh. I guess Mr. Bourdain doesn't feel like talking. Alright, caller, you're on 'ghost talk.' Who would you like to reach out and touch you today?

and 18 to vote for one.

Hilarious - I think I was 11 when I summoned my first demon. 16 for my first beer (I was a late bloomer). LOL
