New! Get some points for participating in the chat rooms! To help encourage members to hang out and chat in chat rooms, you'll now get 5 points when you enter a room (counted once per hour) and 3 points when you chat (once every 5 minutes) when another member is in the room. Why this many points? I dunno, it's just a start to see how much activity the rooms are getting. As it's still in "beta", there is a limit of 20 points per hour and 200 points per day. Points are given to level 3+ members. You can see chat rooms on the group main page or here [agnostic.com]

What is chat room? How to participate

Some of the groups on here have live chatrooms.

My take: In order to get some more action in the chat room forums, which it seems clear no one is interested in, we are going to reward participants with level points.

Not to be too shitty: Please get some real adults involved in deciding these types of in community marketing issues.

If the block issue has been resolved maybe. Otherwise nopety nope nope nope.

No need to join groups where their only views should be posted. This is not Facebook.

What block issue?

@bingst idk if it's been rectified but there was a glitch that blocked people could see those who blocked them in chat. I will never be in a chat until that's resolved.

@Qualia I believe that was fixed a couple months ago. Let me know if you see it again.

@Admin there's one blocked that doesn't need to know I exist tho...

Why ANY points? I understand the basic premise of having "members" prove their interest.

But, do you think, and is there any data, to support the inferred thesis that agnostic.com is attracting the type of people who really give a shit about points?

Are these the types of humans you, as owners/admins, most interested in as "members?"

Please tell us now so we can move on.

I think you should also encourage pockets of groups to value and torelate views they disgree with... instead,of blocking members, they should provide their side,this is not Facebook and we do not expect to be...we deserve all views.

That's fucking ridiculous. Tolerating bigotry is as bad as being a bigot. I don't feel I can tolerate racism, homophobia, or other forms of ignorance and valuing them is goddamned insane.

Views, beliefs, and ideas aren't human. They don't have intrinsic value, and they sure as hell aren't all equal.

@JimG when people hit ‘below the belt’...I do not consider that civil discourse! It shows, contempt for the other person and I am too old for that! There is a way to disagree vehemently and still not show contempt for the person you are having discourse with! I found out that it is not necessary to ‘work your butt off’ trying to get through to someone who must be operating solely from his ego! It is rarely possible to make inroads!

@m0752532706 Maybe there should be designated groups to debate on certain topics that are hot issues?

@SpikeTalon If that works,then it's okay.

That why we started offenders group !

@VAL3941 haven't seen it.

@m0752532706
