Tried to learn guitar a few times but my hands let me down. But even though I play no instrument I can make a cracking tune. From keyboard to samples and other computer gigerypokery And I don't mean tune mixing, but building a tune out of all kinds of sound.
I often think id like to learn guitar..iv even got an acoustic one i painted a tiger on...not got to do it yet, though i have started a few times, my fingers hurt too much then life takes over. It would go better than my instrument, a violin, with the types of music i like..though i have been having a go with the violin a bit again recently...one day it will happen.
That is quite a collection! I don’t play an instrument but an old music teacher told me that I carried my musical instrument everywhere with me....my voice. When our choir are rehearsing with an orchestra we often have to remind the conductor that we cannot keep re-rehearsing the same notes as though we were fiddles. Sustaining and repeating high notes continually can damage our instruments!
singing is a hard thing to do so be proud that you can carry a tune to the end...
We who play music for a living need people who love music, whether it is to listen to or to dance to, to be able to enjoy what we do. You are a just as important to the process as we are. We feed off of your energy and participation in this thing we do together.
Hardly play it any more, but I can't part with my bass & the rest of the world still fades to the background when I hear a good bass line.
Not everyone's passion needs to be expressed musically ...
I bet somewhere there's a non-musical person who loves music, but wonders how anyone could survive without a microscope, or 100ft of mountain climbing rope ...
I have been playing for forty odd years ....I think you would know the difference between a guitar sound and a rock climbing rope....calibration and string size would tell that...and if he twanged his rope in tune i am sure there would be a c sharp or otherwise and if he was looking down a microscope I'm sure they would be able to discern the frequency of the note by size and frequency...wow
@Dragoria I'm a musician too ... it's ok - all good.
