Dearly love Southern Gospel. My loss of religious faith did not diminish my love for the music.

Gospel i like. old-timey music, including some baptist music, i love: stuff like "i'll fly away" and "when i can read my titles clear" and even "amazing grace." good stuff. not only am i an atheist, i have never been a christian! but music is music.

Not gospel per se, but I love Gregorian monks chanting and the group Enigma has a great chanting mix as well.

As an Atheist, I relate to gospel music in the same way I would a popular song such as Aquarius. I don't necessarily believe in the message of the lyrics, but I can appreciate a good composition or performance.

I don't love it, i do, however, think there are some great individual pieces. I could probably find something good in all genres; that is simply my opinion as I enjoy multiple styles. I do have some syyles I prefer.
Swing Low Sweet Chariot is an excellent example of good music in general.

Not gospel as a genre, but Christian music of other genres (mostly rap and rock) almost always has a hopeful, comforting message. It's nice to hear, especially in times of personal discontent or sadness. Secular music doesn't do a good enough job with this.

So yes, absolutely I love that message in music, especially when accompanied by a good beat. It's even better when it's not ostensibly religious.

In general, no, but sometimes yes. Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act was rather fun.
